Operating Principles

Documentation

You are welcome to take a look at the pages on our site which relate to conditions we work by and those you would be accepting if you use our services:

As you will see, the code of conduct primarily relates to mediation but the same principles apply to every aspect of our service.

Being Open

The content linked above is in part a requirement and we hope, useful information. We are always happy to share more.

Should you need any further details on facilities we provide, or costs, please do get in touch.

Every case truly is unique and we appreciate you may have questions relating to your situation which can't be answered on a web page.

Managing Cost

Seeing website disputes resolved is our first aim yet we also have other responsibilities to clients and to any party involved. Costs should be manageable and reasonable.

All our staff understand this and will recommend a course of action in keeping with the specific case, rather than a preset formula.

Website Report Service Costs

No fees will ever be requested without your prior agreement. Every case is unique and costs quoted here can only be a guide, although the following always applies:

  • Free advice is genuinely free, no restrictions and no charges.
  • Keeping fees notably below commercial cost is our firm policy.
  • All payments are requested in advance, no surprise invoices.

Where free support is not sufficient, a typical scenario is for us to take a thorough look at the technical or contractual situation, perhaps prepare an initial report. Then work with all parties to create incentives to settle, mediation by phone and email. The table below provides a guide to average costs:

User contributions by sector and size of website

Business Sector Up to 70 Pages 70 - 250 Pages Over 250 Pages
Community Project £100 £120 £140
Sole Trader or New Business (Under 1 Yr) £120 £140 £160
Small Business £140 £160 £180
Medium Sized Business £160 £180 £200

The variation is partly our wish to support community units and growing businesses, also a reflection of established, larger sites or businesses needing more time.

Additional Services

The approach outlined above is remarkably effective. Many website disputes hinge on technical misunderstanding, removing this helps and even if entrenched positions do exist, experienced mediators can work through them. We do still recognise that a proportion of situations may need more support:

  • Where they are complex, litigation is involved, or likely to be.
  • When mediation in person needs to replace phone mediation.
  • If technical issues need a great deal of in depth investigation.

Should extra charges be unavoidable, they will be minimised and discussed in full. Hopefully the issue you are dealing with can be resolved without significant outlay, the majority are. You are welcome to contact us and see how we can help.
